The week started with grumpy Rach in the rain, and ended with happy Rach sipping on an Arnold Palmer and a draft beer in the sun. It’s crazy how fast a little sun and an AP can fix a BAD ATTITUDE. This is my favorite time of the year in LA — a couple of weeks before daylight saving time, we get a little more light each night and can feel that springtime energy in the air. Nothing beats that feeling.
March is the best because it’s my birthday and a bunch of my friends’ birthdays. So many damn Pisces. I love being a hermit and enjoying my alone time, but if I do it for too long, I hit a point where I desperately crave friend time. I’ve been feeling this way lately, which is why I'm happy there are so many birthdays coming up. The older ya get, the harder it seems to get everyone together, so I ain’t gonna lie, I love a birthday function.
This weekend, I had a lot of quality time with Jere. We had a lovely coffee date at Tartine on Saturday morning. He was trying to get some work done through all my distractions, and I was, uh, attempting to start planning my 28th birthday party. Then, on Sunday, we went on a COSTCO adventure, my favorite kind of date. Costco hack: go 30 mins before closing; the place is your oyster.

I feel much better at the end of the week than I did at the start, and I'm excited to keep writing. This week, I’m testing out a new recipe for an American Beauty-inspired salmon with tomato vinaigrette. ALSO, most importantly, community college is BACK IN SESSION; taking color theory with Hannah. Dear lord, I hope it's not as stressful as the sewing class was.
Things I'm craving this week:
